On The Third Day Of Christmas...

And my 3rd favourite album of 2012 is "Dead Silence" by Billy Talent. This album is pure gold. Released on the 11th of September 2012. This album from beginning to end is just phenomenal. Particularly the beginning and end of the album - fantastic.

Some of my main favourites from the album are "Don't Count On The Wicked", "Swallowed Up By The Ocean", "Viking Death March" and "Love Was Still Around". Even just choosing those 4 out of all 14 tracks was hard enough - everything on the album is just brilliant. The riff in "Don't Count On The Wicked" is absolutely killer. "Swallowed Up By The Ocean" is the just the perfect 'build-up' song. It climaxes so well - it's literally like the track is 'swallowing you up' so to speak - genius song. "Viking Death March" coupled with "Lonely Road To Absolution" make up the best opening to an album this year. The way the two songs link is absolutely perfect. "Love Was Still Around" is just a really really enjoyable song - I could listen to it happily over and over again.

This album still manages to be different from their other 3 albums but similar at the same time. Their style doesn't necessarily change but there's something different about this album - unique but the same. Either way it is top quality. The name says it all - these are a TALENTed bunch of guys.

I saw them live last month and they killed it. They completely owned the stage. You could tell they knew exactly what they were doing and exactly how they wanted things to be done. From the beginning to the end of their set - energy was high and hits were flowing. Not one of their songs had a bad reception from the crowd. Billy Talent know exactly who they are and nobody can contest it.

I would definitely recommend that you pick up this album. Plus, the album artwork is pretty darn cool...
