Again this isn't so much of a new discovery as a RE-discovery. I came across Alaska Campus late last year and have recently rediscovered their music. Alaska Campus are a 4-piece indie rock band from Hertfordshire (a lot of good rock music is coming out of Hertfordshire lately, just sayin'). They are currently unsigned but are making their way into the music industry/world very swiftly.
Their first EP "Keep Yourself Warm" received a really good response and since then it has been an up-hill ride for them. My favourite songs from the EP are probably "Blow" and "Summer Someday". Top quality songs. The lead singer (Ryan Potter) has an extremely nice voice! Have a listen to some of the songs from the EP on their soundcloud page.
In total honesty, I believe that the band have improved leaps and bounds since this first EP. Their current sound is really polished. They released a new music video/single on the 8th of January and I have listened to it everyday since I heard it... Got a very 'Two Door' feel about it but with a twist. Here, have a listen:

These guys are going to be big, I can tell! Definitely keep an eye out for them this coming year. 2013 could be it for them :)
