Music News...

Despite the lack of many new albums and/or EPs this month, the  music world hasn't slowed down for anyone. Here's some of the new that you might've missed a couple of months ago. But back to the present...

WARPAINT NEW SINGLE "BIGGY"
Warpaint recently released a new song from their upcoming self-titled record and upon releasing it, made it available for free for 24 hours. It's not free anymore but it's still pretty darn good. Check it out here.

CITIZEN NEW MUSIC VIDEO "HOW DOES IT FEEL"
Citizen are another band that I've only just gotten into this year. This is a really nice song, the video is a little reminiscent of Paramore's video for "Decode", but it goes well with the song nonetheless. I'm interested to hear some new stuff from Citizen, until then, here's the video.

DAFT PUNK FEAT. JULIAN CASABLANCAS NEW MUSIC VIDEO "INSTANT CRUSH"
As well as teaming up with Julian Casablancas for the song I'm glad that Daft Punk used him in the video. The video itself has kind of a creepy 'Night At The Museum'-ish concept to it and even though the main characters are made out of wax, it's really touching. Check it out here.

DR. DRE FEAT. KENDRICK LAMAR NEW SONG PREVIEW "IT'S ALIVE"
I have to say, despite the all-star collaboration here I am not liking the sound of this new song all that much. To be frank, this has seriously dissuaded me from purchasing Dre's 2014 record it'll be on (Detox) because if that can make the album, what else can?! Have a listen here.

ELIZA AND THE BEAR NEW MUSIC VIDEO "IT GETS COLD"
After seeing them a couple of months ago supporting Paramore at Wembley Arena, I've been keeping an eye out for EATB. I was pleased to see them release a new video for this single. However, after listening to it recorded, I have to say, I think they sounded better live. Decide for yourself here.

THE SWELLERS NEW MUSIC VIDEO "GOT SOCIAL"
One of my favourite pop punk/rock bands around at the minute if I'm honest. I always look forward to hearing new stuff from The Swellers and for it to come in the form of a new music video... even better! Here you go.

FESTIVAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
There's been a flood of new announcements for summer 2014 festivals this past week. I've already spoken about the lastest Field Day announcements recently. However, Reading & Leeds have revealed Blink 182 as headliners this year, whilst Sonisphere has Metallica and Iron Maiden headlining. 2014 is fixing to be a big year!

KINS RELEASE B-SIDE "OPSIMPLISTIC"
As a b-side to their song "Aimless", Kins have released this gem of a song available for free download here. Kins just have a fantastic vibe and I'm definitely looking forward to reading their name on a few festival bills for next year.

ARCTIC MONKEYS RELEASE B-SIDE "YOU'RE SO DARK"
After and even prior to the release of their most recent record AM there have been quite a few b-sides ("Stop The World Cause I Wanna Get Off With You", "2013", etc..) from Arctic Monkeys and now they have one more for us. This one's the b-side to "One For The Road". Decide what you think here.

DOG IS DEAD COVER THE WAITRESSES' "CHRISTMAS WRAPPING"
Well it is officially the season to be jolly and now it'd seem that we have even more reason to be. It's been a while since I've heard anything from Dog Is Dead so to have this available, even if it is a cover, is reason for celebration. Have a listen here.

Aside from this week's music news, the most important piece of news that I have received this week was the news of Nelson Mandela's passing. Although he was already 95 years old and had been ill for quite a while it still came as a bit of a shock to me. He was such a huge inspiration and I hope he will continue to be one for people, even now that he's passed. RIP MADIBA.
